Iced Tea Syrup
Coffee is a fantastic drink at any time of day during any season. That said, a steaming cup of Java is not always welcome once rolls summer around. Do not let the summer heat deprive you of your favorite beverage when you can switch to iced coffee!
During the warmer months of the year, iced coffee makes a refreshing change of pace. While most cafes and coffee shops serve these cold mixes, you may wonder how to get coffee ice cream at home. Here are my tips for serving delicious iced coffee without breaking a sweat:
• Get ice.
This may seem obvious, but you need ice to help you make iced coffee. If you do not plan ahead by freezing some cubes, you will not be able to make iced coffee when desired. While clear old frozen water will do, I prefer freezing several of my favorite Keurig prepares coffee in a tray of ice cubes. When combined with freshly brewed coffee, these coffee cubes not drink water.
• Coffee Brew.
Next, prepare your favorite coffee variety. Although you can use a drop of beer or regular instant coffee, I prefer my Keurig single manufacturer cup of coffee. To make a cup of coffee in less than a minute, all I have to do is pop one of the K Cup portion packs into the machine and press a button. This me beer cups allows multiple and different flavors very quickly - which means you can pour the fresh coffee over the coffee cubes and start drinking coffee ice cream long before!
• Mix things.
Once you have poured out their new coffee prepared in the frozen coffee cubes, you can drink directly or add a touch of your favorite liquor. Tasting I recommend the coconut rum, Irish cream, butter caramel liqueur or creme de menthe. If you're in the mood to add flavor but do not want alcohol, try adding a few drops of vanilla or adding some Italian-style flavored syrups.
• Try something different.
For a more slushy drink, skip the hot coffee. Just take a cup of frozen coffee cubes into a blender and give it a few pulses. Do not over do it in a blender or end up with soup. Pour the crushed coffee cubes into a cup and serve with a straw or spoon.
Another fun idea is to create a coffee dessert by freezing your favorite beer into a popsicle mold. If you do not have an ice pop mold, freeze plastic spoons in the coffee cubes you make in an ice cube tray. Once coffee POPs are frozen, remove from pan and enjoy. Be careful not to consume your chilled is too fast - it could be the first time that brain freeze your coffee!
